WASHINGTON–If the Maple Leafs ultimately miss the playoffs by a point or two, a position they find themselves in this morning, they can look back at this embarrassment as the night the dream died.
The Capitals, tired and replete with minor-leaguers, were supposed to play the Washington Generals to the rested, Globetrotting Leafs. They were, after [...]

As he approaches the Maple Leaf single-season record for goaltender wins, Andrew Raycroft’s mind is focused on a more important matter.
“Right now, it’s all about getting into the playoffs … not much else matters,” said Raycroft, who is five wins shy of Ed Belfour’s mark of 37 wins.

OTTAWA–Those Maple Leaf special teams were anything but here last night.
Toronto’s misery on the power play was matched only by an equally miserable performance on the penalty kill, a double dose of futility that paved the way to a 5-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place.
And this wasn’t the time to flatline on [...]

Leafs 3, Capitals 0
Darcy Tucker is slowly making his way back into the Leaf lineup. But he’s quickly making his presence felt.
Tucker was like a waterbug Tuesday night on the Air Canada Centre ice, dashing hither and thither, connecting on some checks, missing on others and playing a Tucker-like game fans in these parts have [...]
